Will G-20 Success Be a Big Blow to China,India & Other Developing Nations?

“I believe in the golden rule — the man with the gold… rules!” The simplest reason for G20 summit.

Before I come to conclusion, let me take a note on wat are G8, G20 and what are these summits for?

What are G-8 & G-20?

[caption id="attachment_65" align="alignright" width="300" caption="G-8 Nations, which are facing severe Financial Crisis"]G-8 Nations, which are facing severe Financial Crisis[/caption]

G8 is Group of 8 nations.Members of it are: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, UK and US. EU is represented within G8 but can't host the chair. G8 was founded in 1974. These countries ruled world economy till 1990's. Meanwhile, some other countries especially BRIC were getting energised both economically and politically. These emerging economies made G20 established, in 1999. G20 is a group of 20 nations, members include above 9, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, India, China, Indonesia, South Korea, Australia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Turkey.  G20 was founded in 1999 as this group represents 90% of world GDP  and 85% of world's population.

What was G-8 summit on 7th july for? , wat is G-20 summit on 14th Nov for?

[caption id="attachment_66" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="G-20 Nations"]G-20 Nations[/caption]

There is a broad consensus about present financial crisis. This crisis erupted because of lax of monetary regulations on financial tools used by Developed countries especially by US. Several companies, in finance and banking sector, rapidly expanded their use of leveraged financial instruments to gain more and more profits. This was happened for a certain period of time to diffuse the debts over developed nations. This resulted series of bubbles that bursted ultimately. The notorious one among those bubbles was Mortgage/Sub-prime crises. The debts/loans given by finance institutions were sliced, diced and parcelled out to an extent that companies couldn't even trace their origin of the debts. This fuelled the lack of confidence among investors, credit markets. This led to frozen financial institutions, slumping markets. This incident raised the issue of "Monetary Regulations" .

Apart from this, for so many years, US federal reserve has given the debts at low interests as possible, sometimes at lowest of 0.5%. In general, US citizens have a nature of over-consumption. The same is the case with Bush administration too. US gov has been facing deficit budget. This was not big problem earlier as there were so many banks(like IMF) are there to lend money. But the present crisis demands more money what the banks like IMF, world bank can lend US. So, United States has to gather money not only to overcome domestic financial crisis but also to finance his domestic expenditure. So, Bush had called for G8 thinking that money can be raised from other G8 nations. It was happened on 7th of July'08, which was not successful as other nations had a fear of global economic recession. But, still Washington got support from few countries like UK, France. But, that helping hand was not enough. Now, the only option, Bush was having was: "developing nations", especially China and of course India. We can observe the same analysis in the following figure:

[caption id="attachment_60" align="aligncenter" width="520" caption="US, EU ran out of funds"]US, EU ran out of funds[/caption]

Agenda of G-20:

From the foregoing analysis, we can summarize the agenda of G-20 as follows:

  1. Next move to reflate the global economy

  2. Reforming the regulation that govern financial markets

  3. Reforming and Repositioning the IMF (this is tactic to get 1st and 2nd things done)

All G-8 nations will discuss the rest of the nations in G-20 to raise the bail-out packages to give helping handto financial, mfg companies. But, here we have a point to observe i.e. the US market has been destroyed almost all with this crises. The same recession has touched EU market, by 15th November, news unveiled that GDP  of 15 euoropian countries that made EU-zone had dipped by 0.2% in 2nd and 3rd quarters. But Chinese and Indian econamies' GDP hasn't been dipped. These markets especially China market is insulated from international market. If china comes to act against financial crisis then US will be in safe hands. But it will be done at the cost of its own economy. So china gov will show some reluctance not to enter into this scenario.  The same will happen to other developing countries like India.

So, how to get helping hand from developing nations? this question may arise. May be, US will show IMF as a trap. because, all Asian countries like china, India are trying to get proper representation in IMF. For so many years, EU countries and US are over-represented and Asian countries are under-represented. The extent of representation in IMF is decided by 'quota' of a country. IMF will assign the quota to each of its member depending upon its relative size in world economy. This quota determines country's maximum contribution to IMF's financial resources. The same quota is a measure of taking the debts, loans from IMF. If a particular country has more quota, it will have chance to get more loans, debts from IMF. By august ending, IMF has $201billions loanable amounts with total resources of $365 billion.

As per the regulations, Asian countries should have more quota than the members of EU like Bulgaria, Netherlands.  So, china and other Asian countries will get a chance to increase their quota/representation in IMF provided they give helping hand to western countries.

At the end, i can say that US and EU don't have enough funds to escape out of present economical crisis. So they, especially Washington, is organizing G-20 summit to gather some billions of dollars money from developing nations like china, India and others. Even if they are ready to give, they should ask for enough advantages from rich countries. Otherwise, G-20 will become conduit to the policies cooked up in G-8 summit, i.e. rubber stamp. Whenever a developing nation doesn't think that having seat in G-20 is better than not having it and keeps in mind that they are representing other developing countries and under-developed countries, then the purpose of G20 comes true. Otherwise G-20 again becomes another group like G-8 which has neglected other countries welfare.

Shourya : Another Arm in Indian Nuclear Arsenal

After successful journey of Chandrayan-I, India roared again with "Shourya" in a way to enhance its capability to handle Nuclear arms. India's DRDO, on 12th of Nov'08, successfully test-fired surface to surface missile at 11:25am from Integrated Test Range at Balasore, Orissa.

[youtube=http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=NnmwkCD9vcE]

It enhances our second strike capability i.e. we have got more options for retaliation, incase we are attacked by another force at first. This is why, it had been fired from pit of depth 30-40 meters. After travelling 600kms for about 485 seconds at a speed of Mach 5 (i.e 5 times the speed of sound), Shourya hit a target in Bay-of-Bengal, precisely.

[caption id="attachment_33" align="alignleft" width="265" caption="Rising India"]Rising India[/caption]

The speciality of the Shourya include high manoeuvrability, ability to carry nuclear war heads of 1 ton weight and longer shelf life. Many has dilemma that its the land version of K-15 missile as few were thinking that silo, from which its fired, was full of water. This was crossed by DRDO officials. Shourya k-15 or sagarika, india's first undersea ballistic missile, was fired 9 months ago offshore of visakhapatnam from pontoon simulating submarine conditions.

Method of traversing:

As Shourya fired from the canister, it flew vertically for 50 kms and from that point it flew horizontally. During this time it achieved speed of MACH 5. Its temperature was raised to 700 C. Method of cooling its surface was 'Rolling at its own longitudinal axis'. Then the trajectory was changed as per the destination i.e. in bay of bengal. Sources said it hit target at pin point accuracy.

Interesting observations is that temperature of surface of missile will be raised to few hundred degrees Celsius. Where as for Agini-III, it was about 2000 degree Celsius.

Technical things of shourya wasn't detailed by DRDO. so, few things of Shourya at a glance are:

Manufacturer: DRDO

Project/missile's programme Director: A.K. Chakrabarti

Director general, DRDO: Natarajan

Dtae of Test fire: 12th November, 2008

Purpose: To carry Nuclear warheads & Conventional warheads

Place of testing: Balasore, Orissa (Eatern India)

Range of Missile: 600 Kms @1000kgs or 500kms @ 1200kgs.

Velocity, at max : Mach 5 (5 times the speed of sound)

Propellant Used: solid propellant

Surface Temperature of missile during flight: 700 C

Specalities: Nuclear weapon carrying capacity, Can replace Prithvi, can do Secondary strikings, Can't be easily traced

This is all what about Shorya and lets hope DRDO,our nation pride, will make india impervious to be attacked.

The 10 Commandments intended for Interview

Today, I attended a session on 'Way to make 1st impression, positvely' as a part of the soft skill programme. Definitely  may be, this class was the first class that i attended without any tensities since this programme started. As a coordinator of this programme, i had never get a chance to attend a session completely. As today is Sunday n exams time, many people didn't turn up as they needed either to attend mock-cat or to mug up the subjects for the exam.

Today, it was preplanned to have class on Etiquette-1, Etiquette-2, MTI(Mother Tongue Influence) and Ultimate Leadership. As a part of this programme, we were explained about how to build confidence, to make 1st impression and to pronouncing British/American English. All sessions were good. Among all these things, i would like to publish about "Way to make your 1st impression". Believe me these things really work.

[caption id="attachment_23" align="alignright" width="300" caption="Follow them."]Follow them.[/caption]

The trainers name, who dealt the class was Marcus. He was stud at many concepts of soft skills. At the end of the session, he told us one trick to remember all this stuff. The trick is "Explain this to 10 people". As doing such, not only others get info but also our knowledge will be strengthen. It is worthy to publish as it is useful for Placements and for corporate life too.

It was said that people will form an impression on you in the 1 minute.  So, from the time u open the door to the moment you sit in the chair is enough to give an impression of you.

So this is the period of time, We are concentrating on......

Commandment-1:

Most of us say "May I come in?" to get the permission to enter in to the room. It is okay. But when you add some more terms to it, it would become something extra i.e. extra-ordinary. Like, you can say "May I please come in, sir? " or "May I please get in, sir" But we should modulate our voice to say this.

Commandment-2:

As soon as you enter into room,(after getting permission), all that interviewers see in you is your Eyes. So we have to maintain eye-contact with the interviewers.

Commandment-3:

Now, The interviewers will examine how much charming you are. The only way to know about is by your Smile. The only problem about smile of some persons is they give a sudden smile and suddenly stopped. This happens due to stress we have on interview day. This will come by practicing only. You can stop smiling after some time but it should be performed gradually.

Commandment-4:

Now interviewers will watch over your cleanness. The first look they will get about it is by your Facial grooming. There has been a misconception that interviewee should be shaved neatly, should have good hair cut. I said these are misconceptions. They don't look at either your hair style or your beard cuts. All they see is if they are hygiene and clean. If they are then they are acceptable. This is the present corporate world perspective. But be careful before you are wearing rings, chains and all.

[caption id="attachment_24" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="You will be ONE among them."]You will be ONE among them.[/caption]

Commandment-5:

Dressing is the next, they will come to. Our clothes should be formals. HRs in corporate sector do prefer light color shirts and dark color trousers. The tie is required in any way. The length of it should be such that it touches your waist belt's buckle. The knot of tie should be proper as it is vital in making good-look. You shouldn't wear new trousers as it may/mayn't convenient to you.

Commandment-6:

Is everything seem to be over, now they will look at you at a glance i.e. Overall grooming. Here, i would like to mention about some miscellaneous things like nails. First, let me tell you about ladies. Ladies can have nails as ladies are the symbols of neatness and spruceness. But it is not the perspective in the case of gents. My dear gentleman, we shouldn't have nails, nail colors and all. They may convey that you are not neat but nile biter. And second thing is chains of religion. Girls can wear normal chains. Boys can too. But Chains shouldn't communicate any region message. It if it does, no need to sit in the chair, you can take a U-turn from that point n come back. The same applies to bindi also. For girls, they can put bindi as nowadays, it becomes fashion.

Commandment-7:

As you are approaching them, your physical appearance stop influence them. But body odour start influencing them. If there is no odour, it doesn't matter. But to avoid any mistakes by sweating and all, It is very necessary to use Body deodorants. After wards, you can go sprays and perfumes. That depends on your financial status.

Commandment-8:

This point may seems ridiculous. But matters in some times. Now, you are going so close to interviewer and you are about to give handshake. So, your mouth odour comes into picture. If it is bad, all the way you have done go in-vain. Studies say that 80% of the mouth odour is due to impurity of your tongue. Even you brush your teeth twice, you need to use tongue-cleaner.

Commandment-9:

Now 1st time you are using your body gesture how much confident you are. The gesture is your Handshake. This is too important. The way you give your handshake tell them if u are diffident, confident, or dominating. If your handshake is not firm enough, you are diffident. If it is firm enough it says u r confident. If you try to squeeze, of-course subconsciously, or if you show your palm downwards before offering your handshake, it means you are dominated in nature. Except the middle one, remaining both are not good.

Don't offer handshake to any interviewer. If they offers then only you take it. This is mandatory if any lady is there in the panel.

Commandment-10:

Unless they ask you sit, don't sit down. In general, it is their job to tell you sit. Don't forget to thank them. This point onwards, you will need to remember one thing. And it is about your body language. Let me tell you about a survey that was conducted by some university. It says, in all the communication that was made to listener, he will feel glad about you depending upon How you say?, What you say? and Your body language. The 1st factor contributes 7% of the communication. 2nd one contributes 33% of your communication and last one contributes 60%. So remember, the body language is so good that can keep you at the top.

Any one can follow these 10 commandments in everyday life, especially in corporate life. It is not at all possible to do them exactly at a sudden. You can achieve it by rehearsing and repeating it.

It is because, Conscious repetition is the mother of all leanings.
