There is no big difference between the way the India looks at Pakistan and the way the Srilanka looks at India(especially TamilNadu state). If we don't cooperate with srilanka in terminating LTTE, how can we urge pakistan to eradicate pak based terrorism. I see these two things same, so should be the solution. India must cooperate with srilanka in eradicating LTTE.
It has been said by Jailalitha that LTTE is putting tamils as a sheild in protecting themselves. India considered LTTE as a terrorist organisation and banned it. LTTE and ULFA in bangladesh and LeT in pak have their underworld cooperation in supporting each other. The question is : " Aren't these facts enough for India to support srilanka govt in terminating LTTE? "
Whom does with, we have proper relations among our neighbouring countries. Are we diplomatic with pakistan or with china or with Bangladesh. The answer is NO. Now with srinlanka, we aren't supporing it, atleast we shouldn't pressurize them to ceasefire.
I donno, what strategy are we following in dealing terrorism in pak based militancy. I am sure 26/11 issue will be faded from newspapers/TV channels after few days. by that time, we will do nothing to Pakistan. this is the way the things work in India. At least, we should learn how Mahinda Rajkapsa (Srinlanka president) has dared to act against terrorism. He deserves a lot of appreciation. Because, neither US nor UK nor India could capture the terrorists who attacked their homelands. They failed. Whereas, Srinlanka is securing its homeland from LTTE.
One thing India should mind is that terrorism shouldn't be coupled either with language (Tamil as in case of Tamil Nadu) or with relegion (Muslim). War against terror is not an ethnic war or crucades. In this world, now, there are two religions: one is Terrorism, another one is Counter-terrorism. Only one religion should exist. Governaments should act to counteract the terrorism keeping all other issues like language, polotics aside.

ReplyDeleteWe have seen counter insurgencies initiatives at home - in Punjab, Kashmir and the north east. However the images from Sri Lanka aree not anything similar. The volume of casualties and atrocities by the Sri Lankan army are emotionally incomprehensible for most Tamil Indians.
It is not the actions of LTTE or their goals and objectives, but the flouting of human values by the Sri Lankan armed forces that has caused the paradigm shift in the sentiments of Tamil Indians.
I request my brother Indians to understand the truth and determine if the struggle in Sri Lanka is that of terrorism or freedom struggle. Remember 100 criminals can escape, but an innocent should never be punished or killed. It will be a mistake against humanity to not voice against genocide.
